The Flownamics Seg-Flow® 4800 coupled with a Nova BioProfile Flex Analyzer will provide a fully automated, on-line analytical solution for monitoring cultures in advanced bioprocesses.
After delivering each sample to the Nova BioProfile Flex, the Seg-Flow 4800 system then receives and processes the data, providing real-time cell, nutrient and metabolite analysis as well as feed control options for optimum culture growth.
The highly flexible Nova BioProfile is able to measure glucose, lactate, glutamine, glutamate, ammonium, sodium, potassium, calcium, pH, pO2, pCO2, osmolality, cell density, viability, and cell diameter.

The Flownamics® Seg-Flow® coupled with a YSI Biochemistry Analyzer allows for fully- automated, on-line monitoring of a wide range of analytes.
The SEG-FLOW withdraws microfiltered samples from up to 8 bioreactors using a FISP® Cell Free Sampling probe, delivering each to the YSI analyzer, or up to a total of 4 analyzers.
The YSI Interface allows for a wide range of automations. This includes status checks and calibrations and module-specific measurements. The interface also allows for simple configuration of probe chemistry, units, buffer location, and more.
The Seg-Flow system processes the YSI analyzer data and can provide feed control options for each vessel independently. OPC technology allows for simple integration of the YSI data into any OPC-enabled SCADA or bioprocess management system.
Highly accurate fraction collection is possible using the Seg-Flow system in conjunction with FlowFraction™. Fractions from up to 8 vessels can be automatically withdrawn for further off-line analysis. With sample volumes from 250 µl to 50 ml the system can be used with a wide range of processes and cultures.
The FlowFraction system is highly customizable, and accommodates a wide variety of tube types and sizes, as well as septum piercing and accurate temperature control, with a choice of peltier or liquid-cooled rack systems.
Additional flexibility can be provided by implementing the optional Seg-Flow Sample Module which can automate reagent addition and sample dilution tasks, and custom rack sizes are available to allow for a bespoke solution.
Specialised FlowWeb™ software controls and monitors every function within the system, eliminating human errors, and contamination risk is vastly reduced thanks to automatic self-cleaning of internal flow paths after every cycle.
The Flownamics Seg-Flow® 4800 coupled with a Cedex HiRes® Analyzer offers a fully automated, on-line cell analysis solution for culture monitoring in advanced bioprocesses.
The Seg-Flow samples from up to 8 process streams and delivers each to the Cedex HiRes®, or up to 4 fraction collectors or analyzers.
Cedex HiRes® automatically analyses cell concentration, viability, and morphological parameters using “Moving Microscope” technology. User-friendly graphical output allows for quick analysis of results.
Data is fed back to the Seg-Flow which can then use this to manage culture feed control or an other bioprocess management system using OPC.
The Flownamics Seg-Flow® 4800 coupled with a Vi-CELL® XR Cell Viability Analyzer enables fully automated on-line analysis of cell viability using the Trypan blue dye exclusion method.
The Seg-Flow automatically withdraws samples from up to 8 sources and delivers each to the Vi-CELL®XR, or up to 4 different analyzers. The Vi-CELL® XR’s highly accurate cell counter is able to distinguish between live and dead cells for a wide range of cell types. It is also able to accurately distinguish between cells and nanoparticle aggregate, ensuring the highest quality data.
Resulting data from the Vi-CELL® XR is returned to the Seg-Flow, where OPC technology allows real-time cell staining and counting data to be used to control any SCADA or bioprocess management system to allow for optimum process monitoring and control.
The Flownamics Seg-Flow® 4800 coupled with the Cedex® Bio HT Bioprocess Analyzer offers a complete automated sampling and analysis solution.
The Seg-Flow is able to sample from up to 8 process streams, delivering each sample to the Cedex® Bio HT, or up to 4 independent analyzers. The Cedex® Bio HT is a complete solution for multiple parameter analysis using advanced photometric technology.
Designed for use with minimal human input, the Cedex Bio HT has been engineered with long calibration curve stability. It can also automatically run a daily maintenance routine to ensure the highest levels of performance and accuracy.
After running single or multiple assays per sample, the Cedex Bio HT passes the data back to the Seg-Flow, which thanks to OPC technology can seamlessly integrate the data into any SCADA or bioprocess management system allowing enhanced monitoring and control of key processes.
Thanks to its scale-independent technology, Seg-Flow with Cedex Bio HT can be used in all environments, from lab work and pilot plants up to full-scale production processes.
