As the worldwide demand for power keeps growing, the energy sector is diversifying its mix of sources. Pellet fuel offers a fossil-free alternative suitable for industrial and domestic sectors. But turning raw biomass, into pellets that comply with standards is a specialized process. Pellet fuel manufacturing equipment combines materials and additives to produce pellets of uniform size, density, and moisture content.

In aquafeed, you can find three types of pellets: floating pellets, sinking pellets, and slow-sinking pellets, because not all aquatic species eat at the same height of the water column. In the case of bottom feeders such as shrimp, river crab, sea bass, and some species of catfish, they eat sinking pellets. Contrary to tilapia and carp that feeds from the surface with floating pellets. Sinking pellets production must control water stability to preserve the quality and form of the pellets, avoiding nutrients' dissolution in the water.

There are two misconceptions about floating pellets. The first one is that they are made with a pellet mill, when the proper floating pellets-making machines are extruders. The second misconception is that floating feed is only used for fish. However, many other species consume feed on the water, such as crocodiles and birds.

Belt drying equipment is used predominantly in the chemical industry but can also be found in other industries. This machinery uses conveyor belts to move raw materials through hot air produced by heat exchangers or by using gas. Belt dryers are suitable for continuous air drying and cooling applications. They use heated air or an inert drying gas to remove the moisture, as the product passes through a drying chamber, on a perforated mesh belt. Belt dryers are suitable for industries producing pelletized or granular, dry bulk products. Drying time and the overall drying process depends on the type of product you aim to make.

Pelleting presses compact your feed granules into a homogenous mass by pushing the material through a pellet die hole while applying pressure with a roller. The compressed mix is then cut down to size in equal measurements. Used for numerous applications, pellets vary in consistency and may require further temperature control to achieve the required solidity. In order to improve pellet quality, conditioners are an important part of the pelleting press process. This step treats the powders and raw materials hydrothermally before being pressed in order to achieve high-quality pellets.
