The high capacity production of pharmaceuticals delivered in vials and cartridges requires a high-speed capping solution. However, speed must not come at the cost of accuracy and flexibility. Modern high capacity vial cappers are able to deliver impressive volume while maintaining product quality and viability, with the flexibility to seal with screw-on, press-on, tear-off and flip-off closures.
The Steriline VCM Vial Capping Machine has been designed to process vials and cartridges at volumes of up to 24,000 pcs/h. Its design continues the Steriline trend for smaller form factor, more efficient product paths. The linear transport system means higher throughput and fewer feed issues than other layouts.
For quality control, the VCM’s capping station has been engineered to minimise the generation of particles, and the unit continuously monitors for viable and non-viable particles. Full monitoring and control of sealing pressure allows for a range of vessels and cap types to be used with perfectly consistent results.
Operating with vials from 2R to 100H, VCM includes integral vision checking system to ensure only perfectly capped/stopped vials move on to the next station, and construction, monitoring and logging is in full compliance with cGMP, GAMP and 21CFR Part11 requirements.
The small form factor coupled with linear design means all areas of the machine are quickly and easily accessible for maintenance or at product changeover, reducing the downtime usually associated with these activities.
