Quality control of a pelletizing processes, by using a pellet hardness tester, is essential to ensure a desirable product and efficient downstream processes. Pellet hardness is one of the most important characteristics indicating process quality and it can now be measured immediately after pellets have left the cooler.
Amandus Kahl’s pellet hardness tester is a hand-held device that allows the user to quickly and easily monitor the quality of their pelletizing process at the source without the need for laboratory equipment. Hardness is a good measure of overall pellet process quality and consistently and use of this device allows the customer to immediately adjust process parameters to achieve the desired results without delays and lost production time caused by waiting for more sophisticated laboratory equipment. The pellet hardness tester allows a simple in the field quality control for the pelletizing process. A manually operated version is available as well as a motorized version. The motorized version offers more consistency and better comparison between data taken by different operators due to potential variation in operator handling of the manual version.
Amanus Kahl (http://www.akahl.de/) designs and manufactures flat die pelleting presses and related equipment for the conditioning of many different products.
